ABOUT

JEN POP

Jen Razavi may be most commonly known as Jen Pop, Southern California's skate punk darling and front woman/guitarist of The Bombpops. A household name in punk rock, they've released several critically-acclaimed albums, and toured all over the world with bands like Descendents, Bad Religion, The Dropkick Murphys and Bayside. But Jen's story doesn't stop there. In fact, that's only the start.

In addition to growing up on heavy doses of pop punk and So Cal skate punk, she has also drawn inspiration from dark-pop artists like K.Flay and The Cardigans. Recently, Jen found herself writing songs that didn't quite fit in the Bombpops universe, and knew she had more to share with the world. In 2022, she took a leap of faith, invested in herself, and reached out to Grammy-nominated producer Will Yip (Turnstile, Bartees Strange, Code Orange) to help bring this different side of her creativity to life.

Her first single, "Saw In Half,” is a haunting track that explores the power dynamics of a one-sided, toxic relationship through the lens of a magician's assistant being sawed in half. Jen Razavi's signature clever and insightful lyrics are on full display, backed by a fresh sound that pushes the boundaries of what fans have come to expect from her. The song creates an atmosphere of suspense and intrigue, much like a magic act, leaving listeners on the edge of their seats. But at its core, "Saw In Half" is a haunting portrayal of a relationship gone wrong, leaving the individual feeling broken and alone.
